Why Oswald?

Why Oswald?

Because when the world is running at 2x, Oswald feels like 0.5x.

I grew up watching Oswald, and back then, it was just a cartoon I loved. Today, somehow, it feels like much more. It’s comfort. It’s nostalgia. It’s a reminder of a time when doing nothing and having nowhere to be was enough.

And as someone who is trying to live a slower life, my favourite way to start a morning is still a cup of tea (not Bournvita anymore :p) and an episode of Oswald.

I’ve watched every episode in Hindi. And even today, “Big, ripe, juicy tomatoes” will never beat the feeling of “laal, raseele, pakke hue tamatar.” 😂

The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve started relating to the characters too.

Henry, who likes things just right. Daisy, who is always excited about everything. And Oswald, who somehow always has time to help everyone in the Big City.

Honestly, I think I’m a little bit of all three.

I still remember getting ridiculously excited for Monday Mystery Lunch, feeling anxious when Daisy broke Henry’s fish vase, and watching Oswald make that huge cake for Caterina — only for the little cupcake to survive perfectly for her.

The little everyday adventures that somehow felt like the biggest things in the world.

I remember these episodes so clearly because they were never really about anything huge. They were about friends, little problems, helping each other, getting excited about ordinary things and finding joy in a very simple day.

As Henry would say — “Na zyada, na kam.”

And maybe that’s what I miss the most.

We grew up, got jobs, started paying bills, and somehow life got faster. Along the way, we stopped making enough time for our people and for the little things that made us happy.

But growing up doesn’t mean growing apart.

And that’s why I made this game. ✨

To give you an excuse to call your people, sit around a table, laugh at stupid things, put your phones away for a bit and just have fun.

Nothing too much. Nothing too little.

Just enough to slow down for a while.
